Barrier
Rail Work to Restrict Lanes on Iowa 76
Posted 1 June 2009
Construction work on
the barrier rail along Iowa 76 will restrict lanes on that roadway
north of Waukon beginning tomorrow, according to the Iowa Department of
Transportation’s (DOT) New Hampton construction office.
The work is scheduled at two locations between Waukon and the Minnesota
state line. In the work area, the roadway will be reduced to a single
lane. Traffic will be assisted through the work areas by temporary
traffic signals. The project is expected to be completed by mid-June,
weather permitting.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed
limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines
for moving violations can more than double in work zones. As in all
work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between
vehicles and wear seat belts. |
