to Offer a Variety of Free Health Tests at 2009 Allamakee County Fair

Veterans Memorial Hospital will be offering a variety of free health
tests at the 2009 Allamakee County Fair. Testing will change
daily and will include the following schedule:
· Wednesday, July 8,
6:00-10:00 p.m.—Free blood sugar/diabetes testing.
· Thursday, July 9,
4:00-7:00 p.m.—Massages by nationally certified massage therapist, Edna
Wyninger.
· Friday, July 10,
4:00-8:00 p.m.—Free blood sugar/diabetes testing by Teresa Myers, RN,
Diabetes Educator.
· Saturday, July 11,
4:00-8:00 p.m.—Free cholesterol tests by Machelle Bulman, RN, Education
Coordinator and Infection Control Specialist.
· Sunday, July 12,
Noon-4:00 p.m.—Free blood pressure screenings by the Veterans Memorial
Hospital Community and Home Care nurses.
Children and adults alike are invited to visit the hospital’s booth for
a fun, educational trivia game called, “Who Wants to be a Healthy
Millionaire.”
Educational materials and displays with many hand outs and giveaways
will also be on site, including a special display on staying hydrated
in warm weather, comparing what is truly best for our bodies.
As always, Veterans Memorial Hospital will have a medical kit available
for any first aide emergencies on the Fairgrounds. The hospital
booth will be located inside the Fairgrounds Pavilion building.
